Sacred Economics, by Ian MacKenzie

I am so thankful to have amazing, activated friends who share all sorts of beautiful, inspirational, and enlightening information.  I believe that what you get out of facebook, like any tool, depends on how you use it.  Also, I think the utility and relevance of what shows up in your news feed is largely a function of what your friends are passionate about and interested in.  With a bit of discernment in what choose to click, I almost always walk away happy with the time I spend on facebook (even though sometimes it can be much more than expected) because I learn so much from quantum physics videos, political articles, and art that friends share.  Thank you Bonz, for finding the coolest and most inspirational stuff to share! I’m sure this wont be the last thing from Bonz I share with this blog community.  This video talks about how our current economic system is fundamentally out of alignment with our values and what is truly good for us as well as the planet, and puts forth ideas for positive change.  It is short, and extremely well done!

“Sacred Economics traces the history of money from ancient gift economies to modern capitalism, revealing how the money system has contributed to alienation, competition, and scarcity, destroyed community, and necessitated endless growth.

Today, these trends have reached their extreme – but in the wake of their collapse, we may find great opportunity to transition to a more connected, ecological, and sustainable way of being.
